The new QLM SHADOW RESCUE MANIKIN

QLM have launched a new and exciting pool lifeguard training product, which it hopes will assist lifeguard training and lead to an enhancement in pool lifeguarding. The new Shadow Rescue Manikin is a lightweight, discreet rescue dummy made from synthetic mesh and fitted with steel weights that enable the device to sink to the bottom of the pool to simulate the appearance of submerged casualty.

Placing the Shadow Rescue Manikin on the bottom of the pool will test a lifeguard's ability to spot a submerged casualty and respond accordingly within a given time (not unlike a fire drill).

The shadow manikins come either as a child body shape, a child lying on its side or a simple rectangle and all come with a full 12-month warranty. Due to their unique lightweight design they can be rolled up and hidden under a float and smuggled into the pool by a mystery visitor or Pool Manager. The primary uses of the manikins are as follows:

  • Ongoing lifeguard training
  • Check and measure pool visibility
  • Mystery shopper or routine lifeguard vigilance testing

The manikins are available as a child's body (lying on back), a child's body (lying on side) or as a simple rectangle all at an affordable cost of just £150 each (excluding VAT and delivery).
